APU was proud to provide production services in Peru for Ancient Apocalypse, the acclaimed Netflix series produced by ITN Productions and presented by Graham Hancock.

Our filming journey took us deep into two of Peru's most fascinating regions: the Amazon Basin and the Andes. In the Peruvian Amazon around Iquitos, our crews filmed vast river systems, indigenous communities, and traditional ayahuasca ceremonies that continue to play an important role in local cultural traditions. These sequences offered viewers a glimpse into ancient knowledge and oral histories preserved through generations.

The production then moved to Cusco, the historic heart of the Inca Empire, where the series explored alternative theories surrounding ancient civilizations and advanced stoneworking techniques. Particular attention was given to the monumental fortress of Sacsayhuamán, whose massive precisely fitted stones have fascinated researchers and visitors for centuries.

In Episode 3, Hancock compares indigenous oral traditions from different parts of the world while investigating the possibility that some ancient sites may be older than conventional archaeological interpretations suggest. The episode also examines theories surrounding a global flood event that may have impacted early civilizations, exploring the idea that knowledge survived in isolated regions, including the high Andes.

Whether viewed as archaeology, exploration, or a study of alternative historical theories, Ancient Apocalypse showcases Peru's extraordinary landscapes, cultural heritage, and enduring mysteries.
