For Hewlett Packard and Best Light Creative we went up in the highlands of Arequipa to test the HP Officejet Pro X at the adverse locations of Hochchild’s mines Ares and Arcata.
First of all we had to take a detour because of a strike in the town of Caylloma which turned our 5 hour trip into a 14 hour trip across the whole valley of the Volcanoes.
Once at the mine site, we had to adjust to the altitude. Arcata is at 15,000ft above sea level (4600m), and Ares is at 16,000ft (4900m). Believe it or not those extra 1000ft make a big difference!
We were able to test the equipment at the offices, as well as to see how the printout behaved inside the mine shafts where they faced humidity, dust, and a just plain hostile environment.
