TRANSFORMERS 7 | RISE OF THE BEASTS

In 2021, APU Productions was appointed by Paramount Pictures as the main local production services company for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The film became the largest and most logistically complex feature ever produced in Peru, involving multiple regions, challenging terrain, and studio-level production requirements.

APU served as the central operational partner for the production in Peru, overseeing all local execution and acting as the primary liaison between the U.S. production team and Peruvian authorities, vendors, and crew. From early creative scouting through wrap, our team was responsible for ensuring that the project met Paramount’s technical, safety, and scheduling standards while navigating the realities of large-scale production in diverse environments.

Scope of Work

The Peru portion of the film required extensive planning, high-level coordination, and deep local expertise. APU’s responsibilities included:

• Location scouting and technical recces across urban, jungle, and remote locations

• Full pre-production services, including local budgeting, scheduling, and departmental coordination

• Customs management and importation of camera, grip, SFX, vehicles, and specialized equipment

• Immigration and visa processing for international cast and crew

• SFX and pyrotechnics permitting and importation, one of the most complex regulatory processes in the country

• Transportation and logistics, moving large units and equipment across regions with limited infrastructure

• Hiring and management of large-scale local crews, trained to international production standards

Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and produced by Duncan Henderson and RJ Mino, the production spanned nearly one full year from early planning through wrap, requiring sustained coordination between Peru and the U.S. production office.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts stands as a defining project for APU Productions and a clear demonstration of our ability to lead studio-level productions, manage high-risk and high-visibility shoots, and deliver predictable results for major international producers filming in Peru.
